An engagement session in this location is already magical (like this one here!) but then add in the fact that we got to experience the flooded salt flats… and this session became something unique and special quickly.
Rachel and Alex flew out to Utah for their session at the Bonneville Salt Flats. And after all their traveling it was really the most fun surprise to be greeted with the flooded landscape. It only happens for a short window each year, and when it does, the whole environment transforms.

We began with a more relaxed outfit for the first part of their session. Rachel wore a rich burgundy sweater with black jeans and ankle boots. Alex paired dark denim with a light plaid button-down. Their outfits felt cozy and at-home against the bright white salt.
Everyone wants a really good photo of their ring, and having it nestled in the landscape just made it all the more personal. Not to mention her gold and diamond ring was absolutely stunning.

Rachel wore the most incredible flowing red dress. The fabric caught every bit of light and moved beautifully in the breeze. Alex changed into a navy suit with a red tie that tied everything together perfectly.

The shallow water reflected the sky like a mirror.
Their silhouettes glowed in the sunset.
Rachel’s dress drifted across the water and created the most dramatic, romantic movement. It truly looked like they were standing in the middle of a lake with the mountains and sunset surrounding them.

It is quiet and surreal. It feels like stepping into another world.
Alex and Rachel, thank you for trusting me with your love story. Photographing your engagement in such a beautiful place was an absolute joy. You two are welcome in front of my camera any time. Congratulations, again!
