Can I introduce you to Jordan and Selina? They had the dreamiest engagement session at Zion National Park and I’ve been so pumped to show you since the moment the session was over.
There is something about Zion National Park that never. gets. old.
The towering red cliffs, the winding roads through the canyon, and the soft desert lighting that creates the kind of backdrop that feels almost unreal. I mean… it’s a dream location. And as a destination wedding photographer – I see a lot of locations!
From the very beginning, these two brought such a calm and joyful energy to the day.
It’s easy to get stressed before a professional photo session. You’ve put so much effort into getting ready, picking outfits and planning your location. It’s easy and understandable to get caught up in that. But Jordan and Selina brought the chillest vibe to their day. They were ready to just show up & let their love be captured.
One of my favorite parts of the session was how comfortable these two were together.
Whether they were sitting along the sandstone cliffs or wrapped up in each other near the canyon walls, it was a meaningful moment together. I was so glad I got to be there to capture it all. Zion has beautiful a way of slowing everything down, and these two completely leaned into that feeling.
The soft winter skies also added so much texture to the landscape. As a photographer, I always have one eye on the sky & lighting… and this day did not disappoint.
As the sun began to dip behind the cliffs, Jordan and Selina changed into more formal outfits for the second half of their session at Zion National Park.
Selina wore a flowing deep burgundy dress that moved beautifully in the wind, while Jordan paired navy trousers with a crisp light button-down. The vibe changed from cozy and intimate… to cinematic and epic. Yes please to alllll of that.
One of the best things about planning a session in Zion National Park is the variety of scenery within such a short distance.
During this session we were able to photograph:
- Wide canyon overlooks
- Textured sandstone cliffs
- Desert trails and rock formations
- Intimate close-up portraits with beautiful color schemes
- A windy sunset with sweepingggg + stunning views
Jordan and Selina fully trusted the process, and it made such a difference throughout the evening. They laughed constantly and never seemed distracted by the cold temperatures or steep overlooks. They were so present!
This location continues to be one of my favorite places for destination engagement sessions because every couple’s story feels unique here.
