This styled session with Sweet Afton Floral is one of those traditions I look forward to every year. I have been so excited to share it here on the blog. My good friend Kaitlynn, the artist behind Sweet Afton Floral, has an incredible eye for color and movement. Her work always feels fresh, bold, and full of personality. As a photographer, it’s a lot of fun to capture her work.
I love photographing here. The landscape is quiet and expansive, with soft white earth stretching toward distant mountains. You get this weird and wonderful feeling that the sky is endless.
Kaitlynn designed florals that felt vibrant and alive against the neutral desert tones. Think: bright pinks, warm peaches, soft blues, and delicate textures filled the arrangements. Feathers, dried elements, and lush blooms added depth and movement. The result was equally editorial and playful all at once.

Our first set of models brought a bold editorial energy to the landscape. Aaron and Tremayne wore modern suits that fit the set perfectly. I loved the deep forest green paired next to the charcoal. Both had clean lines that added a nice contrast to the whimsical vibe of the florals.
Colorful arrangements framed the models and added texture to the open landscape. One of my favorite details was the soft ribbons trailing from the bouquets and moving gently in the desert breeze.
The energy between the models felt so organic and joyful. Some moments were playful and carefree. Others felt quiet and intimate. I appreciated the variety in their final gallery. These models are true pros.

Our second set of models introduced a romantic bridal perspective. Kasemire and Nadine wore beautiful gowns from J Avery Dresses. Each dress featured intricate lace details and soft flowing silhouettes that moved beautifully across the salt flats. I loved both their individual portraits and couples pictures together.
Roses, textural blooms, and interesting elements created dimension and softness that drew you in. Bouquets included delicate ribbons and layers of warm tones that mimicked the golden hour lighting.
As the sun lowered behind the mountains, the light wrapped around the models in the most beautiful way.
We ended the day with a mini reception picnic moment on the flats with a three tier cake and yummy treats.

Her creativity pushes every session into something truly unique. I love watching her bring color and imagination to life in unexpected places. This day in the salt flats was no exception, and I am already dreaming about our next styled session with Sweet Afton Floral.
