Are you dreaming of some epic photos after your courthouse wedding? May I introduce: Moab wedding portraits. The landscape is bold. The light is so darn glowy.

They traveled to Utah with one very important guest. Their son came along for the adventure, making the experience so rich with meaning. Not to mention, the location is nothing short of epic. The red rock formations towered above them. The desert stretched wide and quiet. Everything slowed down in the best way.

Ericka wore a soft white dress long gown. Her layers of tulle caught the golden light as she walked across the sandstone. Braxton kept things classic in a dark suit with clean lines. Together, their outfits felt elevated but unfussy. Basically: perfect for the rugged setting. Their son stole the show, though. He showed up in suspenders and a bow tie, exploring the terrain with curiosity and confidence, while all the adults stood near with a helping hand.

And photographing them felt effortless because the emotion was already there. These two newlyweds still had that “holy sh*t we just got married!!!” glow. They opted for a traditional first look to start the session, and Braxton could not hold back the tears. Seeing Ericka in her full bridal fit… it was so emotional and so beautiful. As their destination wedding photographer, even I was tearing up a bit!
The textures. The colors. The way the light shifts as the sun dips lower. It all adds depth to every photograph. We wandered along the trails, pausing where the light felt right. Some moments were quiet and intimate. Others were joyful and full of movement. Each one added diversity to their final gallery. Both in visual and emotion.
Including their son changed the rhythm of the session in the best way. It brought laughter, and all those sweet parental moments. Yes, so much of being a parent is the middle of the night snuggles, or trying to figure out how to help them when they need it. But these photos, in the middle of the National park, just highlighted the highest highs. Getting married, creating their family (officially) and celebrating together.

Ericka and Braxton held each other close while their son stood nearby, watching with wide eyes. It was so grounding. This is what wedding pictures can be when you choose a place that reflects who you are, and the feelings you’re experiencing.
These two wanted something sweeping and grand, to capture the way they felt on their courthouse day. Thank you so much for choosing me to be your destination wedding photographer!
