The wind had a mind of its own this beautiful day at Loveland Pass. And honestly… I think it made the session even better. Alison and Alex leaned into it, and we made it a main character in their gallery.
In this session, the mountains stretched gloriously behind these two lovebirds. The air felt crisp and kept us on our toes! It was one of those evenings that reminds you why Colorado is just so special.

Alison and Alex arrived ready to explore. Their outfits were cohesive and neutral, which let the landscape shine. Alison wore a black top and classic denim jeans. Alex paired a light button-down with dark jeans. The neutral palette worked as an anchor point against the rugged alpine terrain.
We started near a quiet lake, tucked beneath rocky slopes. We caught Loveland Pass when it wasn’t covered in snow, and I loved the texture and greenery everywhere. It really added a depth to their gallery.
These two held each other close. Both to shield from the wind, and also because they were feeling so in-love this day. I’ve found that another super special part of an engagement session is that it really helps you slow down and take in the season together…
As we wandered higher, the views opened up. There were rolling ridgelines that looked like they were out of a movie. Pine forests below that we wandered through. Alison and Alex laughed their way across the trail, stealing kisses and sharing inside jokes. Photographing them was easyyyy, like following along on a walk they would have taken anyway.

One of my favorite parts of this location is how quickly the scenery changes. In just a short walk, you get lakes, rocky overlooks, and wide open mountain views. Sign me up, any day.
The wind picked up more as the sun lowered, and it honestly added energy to the photos. They didn’t fight it. They embraced it. Those in-between moments became some of my FAVS images from the session.
As the light started to dip into golden hour, we reached a final overlook. The mountains stretched massively in front of them. And these two stood side by side, taking it all in. That sense of being fully present together was palpable. These are the moments that tell the story beyond “just photos”, you know?
Sessions like this are why I love working in the Rockies. There is so much room to move and explore. Not to mention the backdrops feel as epic as you do while you’re in love. If you want a location that mirrors your engagement experience, I highly recommend this one.
