This electric day at High West in Park City, Utah was one for the books! Meighan and Sterling’s celebration was nothing short of unique, exciting and full of authentic love. Between the stunning mountain setting, their soul-deep love story, and the most unforgettable reception twist (more on that in a second!), this day was the perfect blend of everything that makes them them.
Meighan and her bridesmaids got ready at Blue Sky Auberge, a luxury mountain resort that is just so serene... The natural light, modern rustic design, and mountain views created the dreamiest setting for those pre-wedding moments. Utah brides: take notes! It’s the perfect start to a day that’s all about celebration and connection.
Sterling works at this venue as a whiskey expert, so there couldn’t have been a more fitting venue. Tucked into the heart of Park City, this beautiful place is part working distillery, part gathering place. And it’s such a unique spot for a wedding. With its rustic wood, industrial touches, and mountain backdrop, it has that balance of cozy and elevated that makes every moment feel extra special.
Meighan looked incredible in her Bridal Studio Utah gown, a fitted lace dress with stunning geometric patterns and a sweeping train. Talk about epitome of a bride! Sterling wore a light gray suit, a perfect contrast against the warm fall light.
These two did a first look out on the porch before heading down to the lawn for wedding party photos with their friends. It was the perfect kick off to their big day.
Their ceremony on the hillside was framed with pampas grass and barrel accents (provided by Harvest Moon Events), which tied in beautifully with the natural landscape. They had two flower girls start off the ceremony, and said “I Do” with a sweeping mountain backdrop.
After the ceremony, we snuck away to take newlywed portraits in the golden hour lighting. I love this part of the day, when my couples just get to bask in the glow of “holy sh*t we just got married!!!”
Now, let’s talk about the reception… because this was no traditional dinner-and-dancing night. Instead, they threw a punk rock concert! The band Sounds Like Teen Spirit played all the best throwback emo hits, and the crowd went absolutely wild. At one point, Sterling even hopped on the drums and shredded it. He was amazing, and the energy in the room was off the charts.
The photos from this part of the night are some of my favorites… they just perfectly captured the charged, electric energy in the room. Starbursts in the lighting, packed dance floors, and that mix of nostalgia and pure joy that you only get when a band plays the songs you grew up screaming in your car.
From start to finish, Meighan and Sterling’s day was unique, authentic, and so full of life. If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Park City that blends incredible food, cozy spaces, and mountain views: High West Distillery is one you’ll want to check out. And if you’re ready to throw a reception that feels 100% like you? Take a note from these two and make it your own.
