One of my favorite parts about being a destination wedding photographer is getting to see so many different corners of the world… but this downtown DFW couples session was extra special because it involved family!
While I was in the Fort Worth area photographing Ellie & Jonathan’s gorgeous winter wedding, I made sure to carve out some time to meet up with my cousin Katie and her husband Michael for a fun couples shoot.
We kicked things off at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, and wow… what a dreamy start. The soft winter light and green everywhere almost made it feel like spring had arrived early. Talk about a photographer’s dream!
Katie looked stunning in a blush pink lace dress that brought such a romantic vibe to the beginning of their shoot. Michael kept it classic in a crisp white shirt and black pants.
They strolled through winding paths, leaned into each other under blooming branches, and shared those sweet, quiet moments together. Something about the familiarity and love between a married couple just makes my job easy!!
After soaking up the garden magic, we pivoted to the city for a completely different vibe. Cue their downtown DFW couples session magic!
Katie changed into the cutest denim pinafore dress layered over a white tee (plus her signature glasses, of course!), while Michael swapped into a teal button-down and khakis for a relaxed, urban look. They looked so cohesive with the environment. I loved it!
We wandered colorful streets, found murals that practically begged for a photo op (we indulged, duh!), and embraced the spontaneous energy of the city. From playful dancing in the middle of the road to cozy moments tucked away on staircases… their photo gallery is full of life, movement, and joy. My favorite kind to deliver as a destination wedding photographer.
I love photographing couples in settings that reflect all the sides of their relationship: the quiet, romantic moments and the vibrant, laughter-filled ones. This downtown DFW couples session with Katie and Michael had the perfect mix of both.
Whether we were surrounded by peaceful greenery or weaving through bustling streets, one thing stayed constant: their easy-going, peaceful love. Katie and Michael: thank you for letting me capture your relationship in my own little corner of Texas travel adventures. Let’s do it again soon!
