Gina and Michael’s Alta Lodge wedding in Utah was truly a highlight of my 2019 year. The natural beauty of the mountains paired with the magical tent of string lights covering their reception, there was no need for elaborate decorations. The mountain views and warm lighting created a cozy, yet elegant mountain wedding day.
Gina + Michael’s wedding was Published in the 2021 issue of Northern Utah Weddings Magazine!
Gina chose to do a session with her bridesmaids the day before the wedding. The girls hopped in a limo for the ride to the Bonneville Salt Flats for an epic, female-power session! I LOVED that Gina chose to celebrate and spoil her bridesmaids in this way. Cue Beyonce’s Formation- Gina and the Girls made the salt flats their personal runway and I am here for it. Getting to connect with Gina and her babes the day before the wedding, made the wedding day (and the resulting photos!) that much more fun. You may or may not see of photo of me getting down on the dance floor with Gina and her girls- what can I say, after a very champagne-y limo ride, you get close. 😉 You can find more photos from the Bonneville Salt Flats at the bottom of the post!
Gina and Michael met online while Gina was living in Korea and Michael was in Salt Lake City. In their vows Michael started with, “I love how we met. We met in incredible and unlikely circumstances, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that we’re here now. . .I love all that you are, but the thing I love the most-You inspire me. I saw it then and I see it now.” Cue tears.
Scattered throughout their reception tables were small signs with a few paragraphs written by Gina and Michael that reflected significant parts of their relationship. On one of their signs was a section from a letter Michael had written Gina. Gina read this piece in her vows and it was one of my favorites from their decor. She read, “Let’s realize every dream we’ve ever had together. Be foolish: ask for too much (it’s not too much), ask for the absolute best, (we’ll find even better), ask for me to be a better man, (it’s your right and it’s well deserved).”
Gina and Michael’s connection seemed almost otherworldly. Their deep love, joy, and care for one another was truly an honor to witness and to photograph.

Gina and Michael left me the most incredible review! Here’s what they had to say about their experience working with me:
“Nicole is incredibly warm and fun and vibrant, and really takes the time to get to know you. She has such genuine excitement for your day, even though you would that after doing so many of these, it would be less so. Nicole made me feel so comfortable every step of the way, and though I have not received all my photos yet, she provided me with a sneak peak literally the day after and I was beyond impressed. She truly has an eye for how to capture the beauty in each moment and goes out of her way to get that oh so frame worthy shot and then some. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! You won’t be disappointed!”
Didn’t I promise you? 😉 Love these ladies!
Gina is a queen who made the Salt Flats her kingdom. Loved connecting with this perfect bride + her people in such a rad way!
